Cat Adoption Procedure

    1. 1

      Visit the DSPCA

Come and visit the Catery at the DSPCA Rescue & Adoption Centre on Mount Venus Road, Rathfarnham, Dublin 16 and see all the cats that are ready for adoption. They are open to the public 7 days a week from 11am – 4.30pm.

    1. 2

      Meet the Adoption Consultant

Speak to one of the DSPCA adoption consultants about the cat that you are interested in adopting. You can meet the cat at this stage.

    1. 3

      Adoption

When you and the adoption consultant are happy that the cat is best suited for you and your family, you will then fill in the Cat Adoption Application form. A date for your adoption will be discussed with you then or a follow up call will be made to organise a day for your adoption.

The adoption fee is €80 which goes towards helping the DSPCA pay for the care of your cat while he/she was in the centre. Your new cat will be microchipped and will have received the first of their primary vaccination. The DSPCA will also neuter/spay your cat unless he/she is under 6 months, in which case they will make an appointment for your cat to return for this operation. You will receive a FREE Health & Happiness Check Up with the DSPCA Veterinary Hospital three weeks after the adoption and 6 weeks FREE Pet Insurance provided by their partners Allianz.
