Description

This 190SL is very complete. Missing items noted are the rear tail lights lenses and the front footwell wood panels. This SL was manufactured and sold as a 2 door roadster/convertible with NO hardtop.
This early SL has unigue features such as the adjustable fuel octane switch,no glove box door lock or clock, large inside door handles and the turn signal horn ring. Unfortunately the early small rear tail light lenses are missing. Other features include 2 sun visors with plexiglas inserts and a radio delete panel.

The body has peeling creme paint showing extensive surface rust. There is a crease in the lower passenger side door and a dent in the front bumper. The front footwells have rust throughs as well as some rust throughs on the floor panels behind the seats. The rear axle strut body supports will need replacement. There are no observed rust throughs in the nose panel or above the headlights. The front inner fenders appear solid with no observed rust throughs. The left rear quarter panel has a fiberglass repair and the rear inner fender has rust throughs. The trunk is in good repair with no observed rust throughs. All 4 jack points appear solid and were used/tested to raise the car at all 4 points. The gas tank appears solid with surface rust.

The car is original as found and was last licensed and inspected in 1969. All glass intact,no breaks or cracks. An after market water temperature gauge has replaced the original. The latches, handles, spare tire, tire jack, lug wrench, wood panels behind front seats and in trunk are included. The leather seat cushions are heavily damaged. The top boot, and other small hardware items are present. The convertible top assembly is complete with no tears in the nylon top.

The original engine was replaced at some point with a 1962 190SL Eng # 121.928-10-001627.This engine # would be from an early 1962 190SL. Odometer shows 10309, actual mileage unknown.
