Here at So Sell It we are delighted to partner with the DSPCA to help re-home some of the many animals available for adoption across the country. When we launched So Sell It our initial intention was to not have a Pets category as we felt it would be difficult to regulate and we certainly didn’t want to risk promoting puppy farms or unregistered breeders. However, we did feel that maybe there was something we could do to help find homes for the large number of shelter pets around the country. And so our partnership with the DSPCA began and ‘So Adopt Me’ was created!
The Dublin Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (DSPCA) is a registered charity, established in 1840 to prevent cruelty to animals and is now Ireland’s largest animal welfare organisation. The DSPCA provides care and shelter to thousands of animals that have been victims of illness, injury, cruelty or are simply unwanted. Dogs, Cats, Horses, Birds and many other small companion animals brought to the DSPCA are found new caring homes while some others remain in the care of the DSPCA for the rest of their days.
All of the animals featured on So Sell It are from the DSPCA and their recommended animal shelters. We do not allow any animals to be sold on So Sell It and we only feature animals from our recommended shelters. The focus of our new ‘So Adopt Me’ section is on re-homing the many abandoned or mistreated pets that have ended up in the care of these shelters.
